You then simply dispose of the pulp and enjoy your smoothie, smoothies are great tasting and are packed with goodness as they can contain many fruits or vegetables, it's easy to get some or all of your '5 a day' with one smoothie! It is also much easier using electronic juicers or smoothie makers to make fruit juice or smoothies than it is to do it manually by pressing the fruit, this is due to the power that the juicers have which lets them blend the fruit or vegetables very quickly. This will save you lots of time and hassle, most juicers are also very efficient and produce lots of juice so there is little waste.

Most electronic juicers have a pulp container that holds waste material so that it can be easily disposed of, there is then usually a funnel where the fruit juice leaves the juicer and enters the glass or jug that you have placed there to collect the juice. This is great as it means that you can drink the juice as soon as you like, you do have to be careful though as more juice can drip out when you remove the glass or jug so it is always a good idea to replace it with another glass or jug. Some juicers are also not suitable for pouring directly into a glass as the funnel is too wide and the some of the juice will miss the glass, for these juicers it is best to use a jug and they normally come with a jug for this reason.

There are many juicers available to buy online, some are cheap and some are expensive. There is generally a reason for this, the better quality juicers will blend the fruit and vegetables more quickly and will handle harder and larger fruits, with the cheap models they often have less power so you may have to chop the fruit and vegetables first although this is not too hard. The more expensive models often have lots of power so you can drop large, whole fruit or vegetables into the juicer and it will have no problems, they are so powerful that they will also produce the juice very quickly. The appearance of the juicer also varies between the cheap and more expensive models, the cheaper models tend to be plastic whereas the more expensive models use more high quality materials such as chrome. When buying a juicer there are a few things to look out for, the size of the pulp container is important as it will mean less emptying if the juicer has a larger pulp container. Another feature to look out for is the ease of cleaning, the parts of the juicer that contain the fruit, vegetables or juice will need to be cleaned after every use so juicers that are easy to clean are a big advantage over time. There are also some juicers that some with special jugs, these separate the foam that gets through the juicer from the juice, this gives a clearer and better quality juice and is well worth looking out for.

When using a juicer you will generally need recipes, you can try and invent your own recipes using trial and error but is is generally better to use proper recipes that have been tested. Most juicers come with a small book or pamphlet which contains a selection of popular recipes, you can also buy specialist books that contain smoothie recipes if you want to be more creative with your smoothie making.

So buying a juicer or smoothie maker is a great idea as they produce great tasting fruit drinks or smoothies and provide lots of goodness that can easily cover your '5 a day' quota of fruit or vegetables. There are lots of juicers available from brands such as Kenwood, Russell Hobbs, Moulinex, Breville, Philips, Champion and many others, the quality varies so it depends on what you want to spend but the better quality juicers usually offer better quality juice and can handle larger and harder fruits and vegetables.
