The Click Wheel is touch sensitive and is used to scroll through the songs or playlists on the Ipod, in the centre is a button that is used to select items. The way that the Click Wheel functions is very instinctive and easy to get used to, the Ipod uses a simple menu system so finding any song is very easy. When buying an Ipod the main thing to look for is the amount of storage space that is available, this dictates the amount of songs that can be stored inside the Ipod. The storage space is stated in Gigabytes (GB) and the more GB the Ipod has the more space it will have, MP3 files vary in size so there is no hard rule about how many songs you can fit onto an Ipod but 1GB is enough for lots of songs and the models with over 20GB offer huge storage space that will be hard to fill (around 5000 songs!). There are Ipods with around 60GB of storage that can fit around 15000 songs in the Ipod, this kind of storage is immense and rarely needed though so the cheaper models are more than enough for most people. The Ipods with 20GB and above are the more expensive Ipods, the cheap Ipods are generally the ones with smaller storage space so if you are looking for a cheap Ipod then you may have to settle for less capacity.

The main type of Ipod is the standard Ipod, there are also other Ipods that have varying storage capacity and features but the standard Ipod offers large storage capacity (20GB and 60GB) and also offers a full colour screen. The colour screen offers some cool features, some MP3 files some with cover art which can be displayed on the Ipods screen while the MP3 is playing, the colour screen also offers colour games and looks great as it has 65 thousand colours. The standard Ipod can also now store photos so you can view them on the Ipods screen, this also means that you can use the Ipods huge storage capacity to store photos that would otherwise have to be stored on memory cards. The standard Ipod has a battery life of 15 hours and also charges quickly so there are no problems with large listening times, the Ipod also charges when it is connected to a computer transferring MP3 files.

Then there is the Ipod Nano, this is an Apple Ipod that is extremely small. It is thinner than a pencil but has all of the standard Ipod features, the Ipod Nano comes in 2GB and 4GB versions so there is plenty of storage space available. The best thing about the Ipod Nano is the style, they are very small but also come in a very sleek design, you can buy the Ipod Nano in black and white designs with the black looking very cool indeed. The Ipod Nano can store around 1000 songs or 25000 photos (4GB), you can view photos on the colour screen and also play games.

If you are looking for a cheap Ipod then the Ipod Shuffle is well worth a look, the Ipod Shuffle costs less than the other Ipods but still offers impressive features. The Ipod Shuffle has less storage space which is the main reason for the cheap price, it has 512MB which is half a gigabyte, this is enough for around 120 songs so is still big enough for lots of songs. The Ipod shuffle does offer most of the features common with other Ipods though, it has the click wheel and great sound quality but due to the cheap price does not have a screen. The reason it is called an Ipod Shuffle is that it has a mode which plays your tracks in a random order, there is a switch on the Ipod Shuffle that lets you choose between Shuffle and ordered play so you can listen to the songs in the normal order or you can have a little more fun and have the Ipod Shuffle play songs in a completely random order.

Then there is the Ipod Mini, this is a smaller Ipod that offers 4GB of storage space which is enough for around 1000 songs. The main difference with the Ipod Mini is that it comes in lots of different colours, you can get pink, blue, green and silver Mini Ipods so you can buy a Mini Ipod that matches your individual style. The Ipod Mini also features a long battery life which can be very useful if you are on the move allot, the battery can last for around 18 hours and charges quickly. The Ipod Mini is being replaced by the Ipod Nano though so buying an Ipod Mini may be difficult, over time they will become less common and they are not sold on the official Apple web site, if you really want an Ipod Mini then you will have to check other shops.

So when buying an Ipod online there are lots of options, there is the standard Ipod that has huge storage space, a colour screen and advanced features but costs the most. Then there is the Ipod Nano (or the older Ipod Mini) which is the mid-range Ipod, it has large enough storage space for most users and also has a colour screen and most of the advanced features. The last option is the Ipod Shuffle that offers a small capacity and no screen but is cheap, the Ipod shuffle can still hold lots of songs so if you are looking for a cheap Ipod then the Ipod Shuffle is a great option. When buying an Ipod the storage space can vary so make sure you buy the size you require, there are lots of sizes including 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 20GB, 30GB, 40GB, and 60GB with the larger capacities being able to hold more songs. If you are looking for a cheap Ipod Standard, Mini or Nano  then it is best to have a shop around, many of the shops have cheap special offers and deals so finding a cheap Ipod can be fairly easy.
