Welcome to the Panasonic DVD Recorders page, Panasonic are very popular with DVD recorders as they offer some fantastic recorders including models that have a hard disc drive (HDD) and Freeview.

Buying a Panasonic DVD recorder is quite complicated as there are so many options; there are standard DVD recorders, DVD recorders that have a Freeview tuner built in and Panasonic DVD recorders that have a hard drive. The standard Panasonic DVD recorders are quite cheap and still very cool, they can record onto DVD and make digital recordings of whatever you like.

But for the serious Panasonic DVD recorder you will want to buy one with a Hard disc drive (HDD), the HDD is internal and works just like the HDD in your computer. So recording onto the HDD is very easy as you do not need any blank discs and the hard drives are huge and so can record very long programmes. But with HDD Panasonic DVD recorders size does matter as they cary quite allot, there are 80GB, 160GB and 250GB Panasonic HDD DVD recorders and the prices also vary allot too. So it depends on how much you will want to record and more importantly keep on the HDD, remember you can transfer recordings onto a blank disc though so you could easily buy a cheap 80GB Panasonic DVD recorder and just manage your recordings well. There is no doubting though that the extra space available with the 160GB and 250GB Panasonic DVD recorders is very nice and useful as you can store more and not have to worry so much about running out of space, with 160GB and 250GB Panasonic DVD recorders you can easily record whole series' of programmes and still have spare capacity.

It can also be useful to have a Freeview digital tuner built in as this makes recording so much easier. Instead of manually entering the channel and time information you can just select the programme from the Freeview menu and press record, the programme will then be recorded without you having to do anything else. And a Freeview digital tuner also allows you to watch Freeview if you do not already have a Freeview tuner so this can save you money too.
