Breadmakers are very popular kitchen appliances as they offer the ability to cook fresh bread in the home, having hot, fresh bread is much better than any supermarket bread and can be cooked in under 2 hours. Breadmakers use ingredients which can either be pre-mixed and purchased in packets from supermarkets or you can mix the ingredients yourself to get the perfect recipe. The pre-mixed packets offer good results and are allot quicker to use but do not offer the level of customisation and experimentation available with mixing your own ingredients, at the end of the day it depends on how much time you have and what level you are prepared to take your bread making to. There are many brands that sell breadmakers and they include Panasonic, Morphy Richards, Breville, Russell Hobbs, Hinari, Kenwood, Prima and many others.

The other good thing about breadmakers is the amount of different recipes you can try, you can make all kinds of types of bread as most breadmakers have different programmes that make different types of bread. The programmes offer different levels of cooking and also offer interesting types of bread such as french bread, pizza bases and Gluten free bread, they can also be set to cook different sizes of loaf. Another interesting feature to look out for is the fast bake modes, these cook the bread much faster so save time and running costs. Some models also have a delay timer, this means that you can set the breadmaker to come on at a time you set, it's great to set it so that you have warm bread ready when you get home!

There are also features to look out for with the actual build of the breadmaker, you should look for a model that has a non stick bread pan which will allow easy removal of the bread plus it will be allot easier to clean. You should also look for a model with a cool outer wall, these models do not heat up and so are much safer. Other features to look for include a window in the lid so that you can see how the bread is cooking, the other main feature to look for is a good recipe book so that you have plenty of ideas of what bread you are going to bake.

So when buying a breadmaker there are a few things to consider, the programmes are important as they offer more variety to your bread cooking. Other features such as the non stick bread pan and cool outer wall are also important, it's also nice to have features such as fast bake and a delay timer so that you can cook the bread when and how fast you desire. Then there is also the brand, there are lots available including Panasonic, Russell Hobbs, Hinari, Morphy Richards, Kenwood, Breville, Prima and many others. If you are looking for a cheap breadmaker then it is best to shop around, most shops offer cheap special offers where good savings can be made so finding a cheap breadmaker can be quite easy. You will also save money as you won't have to buy as much supermarket pre-packed bread, the ingredients are cheap so in the long run having a breadmaker could work out cheaper (and you get fresh, hot bread!).
